The Sydney Opera House today announced the details of the 2013 GRAPHIC Festival, set to take place over four days in October. Graphic storytellers, comics, animation, music and illustration is set to ignite the Sydney arts community, and the guests for the October 4-7 festival are seriously ones you'll want to see.
The biggest program in the GRAPHIC's history, the 16 commissioned pieces will showcase some icons and iconic figures from print, pop and pixel worlds to a wider audience from the Opera House. Some of the exclusive productions and artists set to premiere at GRAPHIC include:
WORDLESS! - Art Spiegelman with music by Phillip Johnston
Grant Morrison in conversation with Gerard Way
ROBOT CHICKEN - Featuring Seth Green, Matt Senreich & friends
LEN WEIN - Co-Creator of 'The Wolverine' and 'Swamp Thing'
The contemporary music program for GRAPHIC this year is also quite special, with The Cinematic Orchestra, for the first time ever, performing with the 40-piece Sydney International Orchestra with specially commissioned visuals.
